Aria Networks Announces Interoperability with Alcatel-Lucent 5620 SAM

The challenge of integrating two OSS systems should never be underestimated. Aria Networks opts for pre-integration and certified testing with Alcatel-Lucent 5620 SAM to lower deployment costs and accelerate deployment speed.

Aria Networks’ today announces:

“Certification by Alcatel-Lucent was awarded after comprehensive testing for compatibility and interoperability with 5620 SAM and affirms Aria Networks’ dedication to OSS integration quality as an Alcatel-Lucent ConnectedPlus partner.”

The back-story to this is evident in the press release’s final paragraph:

“Recent changes in the marketplace for capacity management solutions, notably the consolidation of several suppliers to this sector, mean that Aria Networks’ independence in this field is more important than ever before.”

Both Cariden and Opnet, competitors of Aria in the capacity management and network planning OSS niches, were acquired by hardware vendors just over a year ago. Cariden, in particular, had early-on built strong relationships with hardware vendors.  But being acquired by Cisco led to some vendors considering alternative partners. Aria Networks’ independence is seen as a strength both by their potential industry partners and by customers not wishing to be locked in to a single supplier.
