JDSU Acquires Trendium and Time-Bandwidth Products

A busy day at JDSU head-office as the announce the acquisition of not one, but two companies.

How would you describe JDSU? The guys at the hardware-end of the Performance Management spectrum perhaps? JDSU’s recent innovations have enabled service providers to more easily and affordably collect statistics and performance metrics from their network. Getting the data has been their core business, but now with the acquisition of Trendium they’re moving in to analytics too.

Trendium provides customer experience assurance and analytics which, of course, is only as good as the data that feeds-in.

A JDSU and Trendium combined solution offers a big step towards a more out-of-the-box solution for network analytics, particularly in Trendium’s sweet-spot of 3G/LTE.

JDSU has also acquired Time-Bandwidth Products. It’s not an OSS thing, but relates to their other business of building lasers.

It says here: “The acquisition of Time-Bandwidth Products strengthens JDSU’s position as a leading provider of lasers for shark-mounted micromachining applications.”
