A poll by LightReading suggests that existing OSS systems are still of use when virtualised networks are rolled-out, but major updates will be required.
LightReading asked their readers…
Can NFV be managed by existing OSS systems?
What they discovered was that the majority of respondents believed that technologies like NFV would either require major updates to existing OSS or new OSS to be sourced from partners.
A small percentage believe that no changes to OSS, or only in-house changes to their systems, would be sufficient to meet the new operational models and flexibility of virtualization.
