Amdocs on the Indian Telecom Industrty

Applications like Whatsapp are eating into their SMS and voice revenue…. Also, after the spectrum auction, the service providers are under increasing pressure to reduce their total cost of ownership, control their capital expenditure, while quickly launching new and exciting services to tap into new revenue streams….

Which is all well and good, but how do you manage the conflicting requirement of competing with OTT when your customers main concern is their OTT performance?

Operators will need to improve their network capacity/coverage and quality of experience in order to deliver what a consumer wants and offset competition from OTT players. Today, consumers don’t like buffering while watching an HD video on YouTube…

Possible answers? Mobile finance, self-service, and damn good OSS/BSS…
